Have your say on who should lead the new VCSE Assembly

A Blog by Tony Osmanski, Chair of the the Assembly Steering Group

Our recruitment for the Chair of the Assembly is now underway and we are really pleased with the interest we have seen in the post from some exceptional candidates.  Interviews for the role will be taking in place at the end of April and we very much want representatives from the voluntary sector in Norfolk and Waveney to be part of this process, by joining the Stakeholder Panel for the recruitment of the Chair. We will also be inviting VCSE Stakeholder members to be part of the appointments and shortlisting process.

One of the driving ambitions of the Assembly is to ensure that the voluntary sector is fully represented in the design and delivery of health and social cares services across Norfolk and Waveney so the Stakeholder Panel, likewise, must be representative in terms of the breadth and diversity of the sector if we are to make the best appointment.

The Stakeholder Panel on Tuesday April 27th 2021 will form the first part of a two-step recruitment process.  Shortlisted candidates will be invited to give a presentation to the Stakeholder Panel and this will be your opportunity to hear what applicants have to say and ask questions about their approach, strategy and vision for the Assembly. Feedback from the Stakeholder Panel will be collected from all attendees individually and will be shared with the Appointments Panel.

We are encouraging applications from VCSE representatives from across all voluntary sector organisational sizes and structures, and communities of interest, from across Norfolk & Waveney to join our Stakeholder Panel.  Representatives can be paid members of staff or volunteers.  People representing smaller groups, which often do not have representation on other stakeholder forums, are particularly welcome.
